Donations Needed for Pleasant Hill’s Community Service Day Food Drive

PLEASANT HILL, CA (Sept. 12, 2024) — Food donations are needed for this year’s 20th Annual Community Service Day Food Drive. The City of Pleasant Hill Civic Action Commission has partnered with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano County and Contra Costa Transportation Authority to fill a County Connection bus with donated food items.

When to donate: You can donate in person at Pleasant Hill Park (147 Gregory Lane) from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20 during the Community Service Day Party in the Park or from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. during Community Service Day. Come on down and help load up the bus.

Can’t make it during those times? Don’t worry, our Community Service Day volunteers have you covered. Fill out the online form then put your donation out on your porch by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21 and the volunteers will come by and pick them up for you.

What can you donate? The list is below:

  • Peanut butter
  • Applesauce
  • Rice
  • Canned tuna and chicken (in water)
  • Boxed macaroni and cheese
  • Shelf stable milk
  • Beans/lentils (dry or canned)
  • Whole grain cereals/crackers
  • Whole wheat/grain pasta
  • Canned soups/vegetables/tomato products (low sodium, easy open)
  • Canned fruits (in juice) 100% Fruit juice (cartons or small boxes only)
  • Nonperishable ready-to-eat meals

NOTE: NO GLASS OR EXPIRED FOOD
