Contra Costa Fire to host annual fallen firefighter memorial service on 9/11/2024 in Clayton

CLAYTON, CA (Sept. 9, 2024) — Contra Costa Fire, City of Clayton and VFW Post 1525 leaders, employees, and family members will gather to pay tribute to those who, on this day 22 years ago, made the ultimate sacrifice. They will also take this opportunity to honor our veterans and firefighters on the Contra Costa County Fire Memorial Wall in recognition of their line of duty death.

Expected speakers include City of Clayton elected officials, Fire Chief Lewis Broschard and Clayton Police Chief Richard McEachlin. The United Professional Firefighters of Contra Costa County Honor Guard will also participate in the event and conduct a traditional bell-ringing ceremony.
