Pick up some fresh fruits and veggies at Concord’s Thursday afternoon Farmers Market.

CONCORD, CA (June 6, 2025) — Downtown Concord came alive Thursday evening as Tom Rigney and Flambeau lit up Todos Santos Plaza with vibrant Zydeco rhythms. The concert launched the Music & Market summer concert series in, what city councilmember Laura Hoffmeister called “Concord’s living room.”

Dozens of families, dancers, and music lovers gathered as the sun dipped behind the trees. Old and young folks enjoyed the lively Louisiana-style sound that had toes tapping and children spinning in the plaza grass. The band’s infectious blend of Cajun, blues, and New Orleans grooves kicked off a season of free Thursday night concerts. The event runs alongside the Concord Farmers Market, which operates weekly from 4 to 8 p.m. during the summer. This comes in addition to the year-round market on Tuesday mornings.

Attendees also have their pick from a large selection of street food including turkey legs and asian dumplings.

The Music & Market series continues next Thursday, June 12, with a performance by The Sun Kings, a Beatles tribute band known for their faithful recreations of Fab Four classics.

Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. each week. Lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and dancing are always welcome. Dogs are welcome on leash.
