National Night Out

Concord: 5-7 p.m. Aug. 5, Concord Library, 2900 Salvio St. Live music, demonstrations by the police’s K-9 unit and the library’s Rolling Reader, crafts for kids, plus the Let’s Roll Parade, where kids decorate their wheels 5-6 p.m., followed by a parade.

Pleasant Hill: 6-8 p.m. Aug. 5, on the grounds of City Hall, 100 Greogory Lane. BBQ, giveaways, police drone demonstration, tours of a police car, fire truck and ambulance, bounce house and face painting, plus meet and greet with local police and fire, American Medical Response (AMR) and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Clayton: 6-8 p.m. Aug. 5, in the City Hall courtyard, 6000 Heritage Trial. BBQ with hot dogs, chips and drinks, police equipment on display, plus meet and greet with new Police Chief Jeremy Crone.
