So This Happened…Week of Oct. 19-25

So This Happened...Week of Oct. 19-25CONTRA COSTA COUNTY—With high school sports scheduled to resume in January, local schools are hiring coaches and making plans for training and competition.

Yet the return of sports is far from certain, as officials pointed out when they released the revised calendar last summer: “This is just the beginning of the journey this school year, and there will be many challenges along the way.”

As schools play the waiting game, Northgate paid tribute to a coaching legend while De La Salle announced is 2020 Athletic Hall of Fame.

Putting veterans first: In addition to its popular military-themed blanket program, Hope Hospice is now distributing a special lapel pin for veterans. Many family members keep the blankets in remembrance, and the pins are sure to become treasured family mementos as well. Read full story.
