Residents can help toymaker make the holidays brighter

Residents can help toymaker make the holidays brighterCLAYTON, CA (Nov. 3, 2021) – After shifting his focus to crafting small desks for students learning from home during the pandemic, Les Ruefenacht is ready to once again turn his attention to toymaking.

The Clayton resident produced and donated 225 desks over the last year after news of his good deeds spread through social media.

“It was a very successful program and I received many ‘thank yous’ from students, teachers and parents,” he said. “My main focus, however, has been and still is making small toys for kids for Christmas, which I will donate to Toys for Tots, Salvation Army and other organizations.”

Known for his small wooden “Buddy Dogs,” Ruefenacht was still able to donate 200 toys last year. He has a new plan for this holiday season and is asking for $25 donations from individuals who will sponsor a gift for a child.

“The entire $25 donation will be given to Dogs4Diabetics to use in their new program of training and donating highly trained support dogs to first responders who have been injured (shot, stabbed, beaten, etc.) in their line of duty,” Ruefenacht said.

To make a donation, visit PayPal.com and enter lesruefenacht@gmail.com or send a $25 check made out to Dogs4Diabetics to Ruefenacht at 5615 Bettencourt Dr., Clayton, CA 94517. Return receipt provided if requested.
