Pleasant Hill Police report steady crime activity for May
PLEASANT HILL, CA (June 6, 2025) — The Pleasant Hill Police Department responded to 2,186 calls for service last month. PHPD detailed this in the department’s May 2025 crime statistics report.
No homicides or rapes were reported during the month. They issued 109 citations and made 76 arrests. About 24% of the arrests were felonies, while 76% were misdemeanors.
Property and Person Crimes
- Larceny was the most common crime, making up 82.7% of property crimes, including thefts from vehicles, shoplifting, and bike thefts.
- Auto thefts accounted for 12.3% of property crimes, and residential and business burglaries each made up just 2%.
- Arson and robbery were rare, with just one incident reported in each category.
- On the person crimes side, three aggravated assaults occurred, accounting for 75% of person crimes, and one robbery.

Traffic and Citations
- The department handled 10 injury traffic accidents and 14 non-injury accidents.
- 7 handicap violations and 10 DUI arrests were reported.
- No fatal traffic accidents or hate crimes occurred in May.
The data indicates a modest month in terms of overall crime, with increases in larcenies, aggravated assaults, business burglaries and auto thefts while residential burglaries and robberies saw slight decreases compared to April.
