Obituary Fredric ‘Fred’ Edward Pueringer
May 20, 1937-May 27, 2025

CLAYTON, CA (Aug. 2, 2025) — A beloved resident of Clayton for almost 50 years, Fredric “Fred” Edward Pueringer passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 88.

Fred faced the challenges of Parkinson’s disease with courage and grace for the last nine years, inspiring those around him with his resilience and unwavering spirit.

Born in Milwaukee, Fred built a life rooted in family, hard work and adventure. Fred graduated from Marquette University in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Fred was married to the love of his life, Judy, for 62 wonderful years. Together, they raised three children, Carol Padilla (Rod), Frank Pueringer (deceased 1988) and Mary Pueringer (Damon Jordan). Fred was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Sarah Padilla, Ashley Padilla, Del Jordan and Amanda Jordan.

A dedicated entrepreneur, Fred owned and operated his own business, WoodSource, before retiring to pursue his passion for travel and exploration. He and Judy journeyed across the globe, embracing new cultures and experiences.

A faithful Catholic, Fred was a longtime parishioner of St. Bonaventure’s Church, where he found strength and spiritual guidance. Fred also enjoyed staying active and was known for his commitment to fitness and well-being.

Fred’s legacy of love, strength, enthusiasm and sense of humor will live on in all who knew him.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 5562 Clayton Road, Concord, with reception to follow at Oakhurst Country Club, 1001 Peacock Creek Dr., Clayton.

Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Contra Costa Crisis Center, causes close to Fred’s heart.
