Other ways to help out

Those who can’t help out with the projects can still help out in other ways.

Have a bicycle you aren’t using? You can donate it to the Bike Build-A-Thon. Volunteers will clean them up and donate them to the underprivileged. You can drop off donated bikes at the Pleasant Hill Police Department until 9/24/2021. On the day of the event, you can drop off bikes onsite at Pleasant Hill Park.

Another way to help is by donating food to the Food Bank of Contra Costa/Solano. Food can be dropped off at two locations:

  • Pleasant Hill Park – near the Teen Center
  • Grocery Outlet 1671 Contra Costa Blvd. A Pleasant Hill Police Officer will be at Grocery Outlet from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for a ‘Stuff the Cruiser’ event.
  • Monetary donations to the Food Bank can also be made online here.

New to Community Service Day this year, the City of Pleasant Hill and Contra Costa County Health Services are partnering for a free COVID-19 mobile vaccine clinic to be held at Pleasant Hill Park. From 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., anyone over age 12 will be able to get a vaccine shot.
