Freedom to move: Why Independence Day inspires new beginnings

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA (July 2, 2025) — As the sky lights up with fireworks this Fourth of July, many families across Contra Costa County are thinking about more than just barbecues and parades—they’re thinking about change. People are thinking about where they want to spend their Sunday mornings, who they want as neighbors, and where they’ll gather next Fourth of July to watch fireworks from the front yard.
