CONCORD, CA (August 5, 2021) — The five-day Jazz Festival in Concord got off to a great start with Jinx Jones set at The Veranda Shopping Center Wednesday evening.

The festival continues tonight with a tribute to the legacy of jazz in Concord. The event happens on the Main Stage at Music & Market in beautiful Todos Santos Plaza starting at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 5. The tribute will be followed by the night’s band The Big Jangle, a Tom Petty Tribute Band.

On Friday, Aug. 6, the jazz continues at Midtown’s Concord Tap House. Locals and visitors are invited for a night of cold craft brew, delicious food and LIVE jazz from Valente of Glib Rig. The show starts at 5pm with no admission charge.

Tribute to Dave Brubeck

Then on Saturday, Visit Concord welcomes you to a special event at the Concord Visitor Center.  Listen to the summer sounds of Concord’s true aficionado of jazz, Dave Brubeck, while taking in the center and shopping Concord merchandise. This event runs from 12pm to 4pm. Admission is FREE and includes a 2021 reusable cold cup (while supplies last).

Finally, on Sunday, August 8, the festival ends with  a “throwback” Java & Jazz event. The Concord Historical Society will feature the Matt Zebley Jazz Quartet at Galindo Home and Gardens. CHS will have plenty of iced tea and iced coffee to cool down on a hot day. Your $15 ticket includes a collectible hot/cold cup with unlimited pours (while supplies last) and, of course, plenty of cool jazz. All proceeds benefit the Concord Historical Society. This event runs from 1pm to 4pm. Get tickets for Java and Jazz here.
