In-Person City Council Meetings Resume in Concord April 5

Concord City Council to Review ARPA Funding Feedback

CONCORD, CA (Apr. 22, 2022) —  At its meeting on April 26, the City Council will receive a report summarizing the extensive community feedback it received regarding how Concord should invest $19 million in one-time federal funding to aid with economic recovery.

In an effort to assist individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and state and local governments in dealing with the public health and economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress approved the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) in March. ARPA provides federal stimulus funds intended to address the ongoing economic recovery following substantial financial losses suffered during the pandemic.

In early 2022, the City of Concord asked residents, businesses, and nonprofit organizations serving the Concord community how the City should best utilize these one-time funds. Through surveys, community meetings and direct email feedback, the City received hundreds of responses. That information has been analyzed and summarized and will be presented to the City Council for consideration at its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 26.

The meeting agenda and corresponding reports and attachments will be available no later than 5 p.m. on April 22, and will be posted to the City’s public meetings portal here.
