Colorful crowd celebrates America’s birthday in Concord

CONCORD, CA (July 6, 2025) — In Concord, Independence Day festivities began early with the Kids Fun Run and the annual 5K at Todos Santos Plaza. Early risers enjoyed the pancake breakfast in the park waiting for the runners to cross the finish line. Dylan White and Julia Vasquez Giguere, both of Clayton, were the first male and female runners to finish.
Young and old turned out for the city’s 34th annual “Rockin’ Red, White and Blue” parade—an ode to the 50th anniversary of the Concord Pavilion. Highlights included performances from the world-renowned Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and Concord’s own acapella group Aca Word.
Crowds cheered for local groups including Concord Junior Giants, the Knights of Columbus, Empire Barber shop, Concord Kung Fu Academy, and Bay Area Professional Family Child Care Network. The parade continued with Cub Scout troop 444, One Tribe Martial Arts Academy, and Caballeros Barber shop just to name a few. Religious groups included the Oakgrove 3rd Tongan Youth group and New Hope Church.
As traditional, the Blue Devils B Corps finished off the parade with flags and fanfare.
Festivities continued Friday night at Mt. Diablo High School with live bands, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks finale.
