Annual street sweeping operation in Concord begins June 24

CONCORD, CA (June 15, 2025) — The Public Works Department periodically schedules special street sweeping operations on streets that are heavily impacted by parked cars.
The operation involves temporary parking restrictions to allow Public Works crews to rake, blow, and sweep the debris which has accumulated in the street and gutter over time. Street trees that hang too low and impact the street sweeper will also be pruned during the operation as well as freshening up any curb paint.
More than 5,000 residents affected by temporary parking restrictions will receive a mailed notification in both English and Spanish two weeks before the start of the operation. The notice will include information on the date, time, and location of the temporary parking restriction, along with information on how to retrieve a towed vehicle. Additionally, staff will post No Parking signs on barricades 48 hours in advance (English and Spanish) in the restricted parking locations.
The coordinated effort between the Public Works and Police departments is scheduled for Tuesday, June 24 to Friday, June 27. A total of 24 streets will benefit from the operation. The locations and dates are as follows:
