Travis Credit Union Foundation joins community efforts to fight COVID-19

The Travis Credit Union Foundation is responding to the COVID-19 public health crisis. The philanthropic group is raising funds for local service organizations which provide support and resources to individuals and families impacted by the virus.

Suspending business operations and implementing self-quarantine and shelter-in-home practices are necessary to keep the virus from spreading. These changes to everyday lives have also limited individual and family access to income, food and other critical resources. Community organizations are also working beyond their means with limited reserves. And the demand for services keeps growing. To bolster support for these vital operations, the  Foundation asks that you help them raise much-needed funds for the community.

‘We’re not able to gather, but we’re still in this together’

“Although COVID-19 means that we’re not able to gather, we’re all still in this together,” says Barry Nelson, president and CEO of Travis Credit Union. “Together, we can make a difference in the lives of vulnerable families, children, youth, and seniors by providing funding through the Travis Credit Union Foundation to local charities that are helping reduce the anxiety and uncertainty caused by this public health crisis.”

Established early in 2018, the Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of Travis Credit Union. Their mission is to build financially empowered communities. 100 percent of funds raised by or donated to the Foundation go back to the community. The Foundation seeks to build sustainable financial wellness for generations to come by supporting financial education, literacy and wellness initiatives.
