As the first day of summer approaches without any sightings of “the boys of summer,” there is some good news for local baseball fans: The San Francisco Giants drafted pitcher Kyle Harrison of De La Salle High School.

As a new COVID-19 testing location opens Monday, June 15, in the Monument area of Concord, county health officials are watching the data after a single-day spike in cases. Meanwhile, more businesses in the county will be allowed to open on Wednesday, June 17.
