Rebekah and Paul Seman joined Mayor Carlyn Obringer Sept. 7 at Newhall Park to plant a butterfly garden as part of the city’s September of Service observance. There were nearly 70 volunteers from the Rotary Club and other organizations participating in the planting and creek cleanup.

Last Saturday, was a general clean up day at Ellis Lake Park.

Sat., Sept. 21 will be a creek clean up day at Hillcrest Park at Grant St. and Olivera Rd. On Sept 28., Obringer and volunteers will wrap up the month with a general clean up and woodchip distribution at Ygnacio Valley Park at Oak Rd. and David Ave.

Volunteers should come dressed for “yard work.” Gloves, shovels and bags will be provided.

All work days are 8 a.m until noon. All are welcome.
