Puppeteer to talk at CV Woman’s Club
Patricia Polen is doggone crazy about puppets.

Puppet maker Patricia Polen will be the guest speaker at the Clayton Valley Woman’s Club meeting on Oct. 8.

Polen lives in the California foothills, and the rich Gold Rush history in the area has given her many ideas for her puppet theater.

She is now retired from a 40-year career as a theatrical costume designer and a wig/makeup artist. She designed costumes for more than 100 shows for professional and academic theater and did wig and makeup work for the San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet and Portland Opera. She also taught costume design and theatrical makeup at various colleges.

Guests are invited to the meeting at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 5555 Clayton Road, Clayton.
