Oh, say can you see: Concord’s 4th of July parade goes online
Unlike 2019’s crowded 4th of July parade at Todos Santos Plaza, Concord has decided to hold the 2020 parade online (Pete Cruz photos).

This year’s Concord July 4th parade will be virtual, but that doesn’t mean you have to just sit on the sidelines – or your couch.

Local organizations as well as individual families and households can be part of the experience by submitting float videos. Entry is free. All you have to do is build a float, whether it’s on a car, truck or even a wagon, then create a video of it “parading” down your street.

The city will compile the video submissions into a seamless Virtual Neighbor Parade aired on Concord TV, presented by Marathon Petroleum Corp. and Pacific Service Credit Union.

Entries are due Friday, June 19, at concordjuly4th.com.

Resident can catch all of the day’s events on Concord TV at Comcast Channel 28, Wave Channel 29 and U-Verse Channel 99. Or watch a live stream on the city of Concord’s Facebook page.

Let’s all show our patriotic spirit this 4th of July because even while we’re apart, Concord is stronger together.
