Get ready for the Clayton Club Chili contest Feb. 23

Clayton Club annual Chili contest
Sunday, Feb 23: 10 a.m – 3 p.m.

Are you known far and wide for your epic chili recipe?

Then it belongs in the 20th annual Clayton Club Chili Contest. Experienced chili tasters will choose the absolute three best from a field of 18 contenders.

First place is $300.
Second and third- $200 and $100.
ABSOLUTELY NO CANNED CHILI ALLOWED!

Advance registration and a $25 registration fee are required and the field is limited to 18. Register with any day shift bartender at the Clayton Club Saloon, 6096 Main Street in historic downtown Clayton. Enter before all 18 slots are filled.

Set up on the day of the event begins at 10:30 a.m. Contestants must check in with the bartender before 11 a.m. Chili must be at serving temperature before check in. Power will be provided to maintain crockpots at holding temperature. Judging will begin at 12 noon. Prizes awarded at 1 p.m. Be sure to bring a full crockpot so the public can enjoy your masterpieces after judging is complete.
