Contra Costa Animal Services hopes to ‘Clear the Shelters’ Aug. 17

Contra Costa Animal Services hopes to 'Clear the Shelters' Aug. 17Contra Costa Animal Services is participating in a “Clear the Shelters” event by offering FREE pet adoptions on Saturday, August 17.

Every year, this national pet adoption campaign encourages hundreds of animal rescues and shelters across the United States and Puerto Rico to help find homes for pets with a one day free or reduced fee adoption push. This year, NBC Television and Telemundo stations in more than 150 markets are working with 1,400 shelters to assist the effort.

Contra Costa Animal Services hopes this one-day pet adoption drive helps find loving homes for animals in need. More than 250,000 pets found their forever homes since 2015. They will waive the cost of spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, and microchipping on Aug. 17. The waiver does not include $20 licensing fee.
