Concord hosts first ever Contra Costa Con

Contra Costa Con debuted Sunday, Nov. 10, at Concord’s Clarion hotel. Comic book, LEGO, toy and superhero families and fans filled the Clarion ballroom all day to meet and get their photo taken with the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Michelangelo and Raphael along with Spider-Man.

R2-D2 made a surprise appearance and delighted the crowd. The inaugural Contra Costa Con Costume Contest featured dozens of creative costumes, which made it extremely difficult for the judges to determine the top 3 award winners in the 2 age groups.

Contra Costa Con is already planning to return to Concord, most likely next June. Thanks to everyone who took part. For more information go to contracostacon.com
