Friday was Senior Signing Day at Clayton Valley Charter High School.

Each spring on May 1, graduating high school seniors around the country commit to their next steps.  Despite the shelter-in-place order that has closed down schools across the country, CVCHS organized a special “drive-thru” event on the school campus.

Seniors in cars decorated with their college colors drove the celebration route to a staging area where they got out to announce their plans to cheering family and supporters. The event was a shout-out to the Class of 2020’s post high school commitments and continued until Friday evening.

CVCHS worked with the Contra Costa Health Services and County Office of Education to ensure proper social distancing protocols for all participants.

Jim Scheible, Executive Director for the school said, “CVCHS is incredibly proud of our seniors and the next steps they have chosen. We have students going on to four-year universities, two-year colleges, the military, trade schools, apprenticeships, and the workforce – and we want to celebrate them all.”

The live streamed video has now ended.
