Clayton Farmers’ Market returns for the season

Mark your calendars because on May 11 your Clayton Farmers’ Market returns for the season. The market, located at 6095 Main Street in downtown Clayton, will be open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11 to September 21. The entire Clayton (and Concord) community is invited to join the opening day fun.

Shawn Lipetzky, Regional Manager for the Clayton area, is especially eager for the return of the market. “Come out and support your local farmers’ market! We hope it will be better than ever this year, and I look forward to seeing everyone out enjoying the sun and supporting local farmers on Saturdays,” said Shawn.

Clayton Farmers' Market returns

Cherries and more
Resendiz Farms out of Hughson will be offering their fabulous fresh stone fruit, everything from cherries to peaches. Chay’s Farm from Royal Oaks will have succulent sweet strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries. Alvarado Apiary will appear with their sweet local honey. Their bees buzz around collecting nectar from right here in Clayton – can’t get more local than that. Rosa’s Portuguese Bakery will be bringing some of her decadent pastries and cakes. Hanson Farms, also from just down the road in Clayton, will be bringing fresh lamb and goat roasts, chops, and jerky. Get out the grill for Memorial Day gatherings.

Opening Day is a chance to visit and support your very own local market, one that is close to home, one that, even though small in size, offers a little bit of everything from fruits and vegetables to other tasty items, and one that you can feel good about supporting. We hope you come out and enjoy your community farmers’ market.
