3 ways Bay Area book lovers can explore hidden treasuresIf you’re a book lover in Concord, Clayton or the surrounding areas and love to get your hands on new reads, here are 3 upcoming book sales to  feed your passion for reading.

April 12-14

Clayton Community Library. Grab a stack of summer reading on the cheap and help support the library at the same time. This Friday, April 12, is the Foundation members-only preview from 4 to 7 p.m. But don’t worry, memberships can be purchased at the door, for those eager for the best chance at the good stuff. The sale is open to non-members from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 13 and from noon to 4 p.m. April 14. After 2 p.m. on Sunday books are half price, or you can fill a large cloth bag for $5.

April 18-20

Concord Library. Expand your collection or look for new treasures from noon to 9 p.m. on April 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 19, and from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 20.

      • Saturday only – Fill a bag for $5

3 ways Bay Area book lovers can explore hidden treasuresBay Area Book Festival. Join thousands of book lovers to meet acclaimed authors and immerse yourself in a celebration of books and reading. The Berkeley festival’s outdoor fair features more than 200 literary exhibitors, performances and fun activities for all ages, including special exhibits for children and young adults. Admission is free. If all that isn’t enough, purchase tickets for the indoor program which features scheduled sessions and book signings with dozens of diverse authors.

The festival takes place in Martin Luther King Civic Center Park and 9 surrounding blocks in downtown Berkeley.
